About the QS World University Ranking Europe
The QS World University Ranking Europe focuses on exchange and global engagement. Unlike the QS World University Ranking, the European ranking takes into account four additional indicators: "International Student Diversity" (5 percent), "Inbound Exchange Students" (2.5 percent), "Outbound Exchange Students" (2.5 percent), and "Papers per Faculty" (5 percent). While the indicators "Citations per Faculty" (10 percent), and the "Faculty Student Ratio" (5 percent) are less decisive in the European ranking, the "International Research Network" (10 percent) is given more weight. The indicators "Academic Reputation" (30 percent), "Employment Reputation" (15 percent), "Employment Outcomes" (5 percent), "Sustainability" (5 percent) and "International Faculty" (5 percent) are of equal importance in both rankings.
The first time the rankings were published, 688 European universities from 42 countries (including 54 German universities) were listed.
